    Cake-Cutting Fee

A per-slice fee charged by a venue or caterer to cut and serve an outside wedding cake.

Cake-cutting fees typically run $1-5 per slice when you bring a cake from an outside baker. They cover plates, flatware, slicing labor, and the implicit lost revenue from not buying the venue's cake.

If the venue charges $5/slice and you have 150 guests, that's $750 — sometimes more than the price gap to the venue's in-house option. Always ask about cake-cutting fees during contract review.
