    Attire

    Veil

A length of sheer fabric (typically tulle) worn over the head and back during the ceremony.

Veils are traditionally worn for the processional and ceremony, then removed (or pinned back) for the reception. Lengths range from elbow (32") and fingertip (38") to chapel (90") and cathedral (108"+).

Longer veils are more dramatic in processional photos but harder to walk in — assign a wedding party member to handle veil arrangement before the walk. Many modern brides skip the veil entirely or wear it only for the ceremony.
