Catering & Bar
Buffet
A self-serve reception meal where guests visit one or more food stations.
Buffet receptions move quickly (40-60 minutes vs. 75-90 for plated) and let guests pick their own portions, including dietary preferences. They typically cost 15-25% less per guest than plated service.
The trade-off: buffets feel less formal, take more square footage at the venue, and require you to release tables one at a time to avoid a 30-person line.
