    Golden Hour

The 60-90 minutes before sunset when light is warm and soft — the most flattering window for wedding photos.

Golden hour is the period roughly an hour before sunset when sunlight comes in low and warm. Outdoor portraits taken during golden hour are dramatically more flattering than midday shots.

Most wedding photographers will schedule a 15-20 minute couple session during golden hour, even pulling the couple out of the reception briefly. If you're planning an outdoor ceremony, schedule it to end 90 minutes before sunset so the entire portrait window falls inside golden hour.
