Reception
Seating Chart
An assignment of every reception guest to a specific table (and sometimes seat). Displayed on a sign at the reception entrance.
A seating chart prevents guests from clustering with the same people they already see all the time, and avoids the awkward 10-person standing-around moment when no one knows where to sit.
Assign at the table level (not the seat level) for plated weddings unless you have a specific reason. Use escort cards or a single big display sign at the entrance — modern couples lean toward the display sign for cost and elegance.
