    Reception

    Grand Entrance

The DJ-announced entry of the wedding party and newly married couple into the reception, typically opening dinner service.

The grand entrance is the formal start of the reception. The DJ announces the wedding party (usually paired, in walking order) and the couple last, typically to high-energy music. It often flows directly into the first dance.

Keep it short: under 5 minutes total. Brief everyone on the entrance order and the music cue at the rehearsal — a stalled grand entrance kills momentum at the most-attentive moment of the reception.
