    Reception

    Toasts

Speeches given at the reception by the maid/matron of honor, best man, parents, and (sometimes) the couple.

Traditional toast order: parent of the couple (often the father), best man, maid/matron of honor, then the couple. Keep each toast under 4 minutes — anything longer loses the room.

Program toasts either at the start of dinner (so people can eat during) or between courses (better engagement, slower meal). Brief every speaker in writing on time limits and content guidelines a month out.
